At Sperry, we're extremely passionate about ourselves as a brand and innately connecting with the water. We're naturally inspired to take action upon learning about the staggering numbers surrounding water pollution.
Key facts
Did you know that 300 million tons of plastic are produced every year and that half of it is single-use? Of that, eight million tons of land in our oceans as waste. And if we don’t do something about it, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish by 2050.
To rally behind our waters, we have partnered with our friends at Waterkeeper Alliance and BIONIC® and we're on a mission to reduce/eliminate plastic waste in our oceans for good.
To kick things off, we've launched Sperry BIONIC® - which is a collection of sustainable shoes woven from an average of five plastic bottles that have been recovered from marine and coastal environments.
